A polynomial functions of the form $$y=a_nx^n+a_{n-1}x^{n-1}+\ldots$$ is called polynomial function of degree $n$.
Is there a similiar nomenclature for power functions (i.e. functions of the form $y=c x^n$)?
Further the graph of the power function $y=x^2$ is a parabola. Is the graph of a general power function $y=c x^n$ called a parabola of $n$th degree or does there exists a specific name for the graphs of power functions?
