Let $a$ be any scalar and $\mathbf{B}$ be a constant vector. $\nabla \times \nabla a = 0$ and $\nabla \times \mathbf{B} = 0$. But is $\nabla \times [(\nabla a) \times \mathbf{B}]=0$?
