The Volume of the Pyramid.

46 Views Asked by At

i am not that much of a native speaker, so this is the best i can do with the translation:

The base of a pyramid is a rectangle measuring 9m, 12m, and each of the edges is 12.5m. find the volume of the pyramid.

this is the image as well: enter image description here

I tried to solve it but turned out wrong.

this is my shot at it, but I just know it's wrong.

the thing I'm suspecting is we have to separate the base into its diagonals, but dont know where to go from there.

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Since V = S*h/3, and you already have S, the hint to solve this question is to determine the value of h.

S = 9*12 = 108

h^2 = 12.5^2-(12/2)^2-(9/2)^2 = 100

h = 10 (Length is larger than 0)

V = 108*10/3 = 360
